About Team UPR
What is Team UPR?
- Under Pressure Racing Team UPR 1998 to Present.
- UPR started in 1998 by Glenn and Lisa Grint simply as a bank account and registered name to keep track of many different motorsport based incomes while living in Phoenix, Arizona.. (ie, announcing, race official, track preparation, advertising, sponsorship management, graphic design, etc) In 2002 UPR started promoting their own events and offered event services to racing organizations. Community extension clubs such as Kiwanis, Optimist, and Rotary hired UPR for fund raising events. UPR would promote demolition derbies, monster truck shows, and off road races for club fund raisers. Over time hire level racing bodies began using Glenn and UPR services. UPR provides events and services at national and international events ranging from jet skis to the Baja 1000. Glenn is a race director for DSM (Desert Steele Motorsports) motorcycle events, a SCORE Baja timing official, and beach/contingency director at the IJSBA World Finals. In 2001 Glenn was hired by PACE Motorsports as a monster truck announcer on the USHRA Monster Jam Series. Team UPR from 2004 to 2008 competed on the televised Championship Off Road Racing circuit. At it’s peak Team UPR fielded 5 pro off road race cars and carried sponsorship from companies like Cabela’s, WD-40, and CFIC Home Mortgage. Along with hiring other drivers both Glenn and Lisa raced professionally for 4 years. Series complications forced the team to down size in mid 2006 and Glenn was taken out of competitive racing with two severe crashes that same year. Lisa still competes today. During this time Team UPR used the off seasons to invest in Arizona properties. Glenn and the race crew used shop equipment and tools to restore both commercial and residential properties. One of these properties became UPR headquarters located on the Colorado River in Parker Dam, Arizona. From this location UPR detailed and/or restored recreational vehicles from bikes to ATV’s to RV’s and 40’ powerboats. In 2004 UPR started renting and providing scenic tours with it’s collection of ATVs. In 2005 UPR sold the Colorado River shop location and relocated to central Nebraska in the fall of 2006. Although Glenn no longer competes professionally his promotional talents and equipment is used by local and national organizations ranging from tractor pulls in Central Nebraska to the shores of Jet Ski races on Lake Havasu and from the Bonneville Salt Flats to the Baja 1000 in Mexico. - Sandhills Motorsport Park "SMXP" Sargent, Nebraska 2009 to present The property that Glenn and Lisa purchased in Nebraska is 40 acres of abandoned hay fields and prairie. After 15 years of servicing and promoting events for others Glenn and Lisa applied all that they learned into the creation of their own motorsport park. The facility contains 3 race tracks, a demolition derby/tractor pull arena and a full schedule of events for 2010.
