Welcome to Sandhills Motorsport Park

SMXP is a privately owned motorsport facility. SMXP will host 5 events for the year 2010. The first event being the Heartland MX Series. Anyone can join! This year we've added a demolition derby event to the Sargent Fair & Chokecherry Jamboree and SMXP is delighted to host the event. The "Chokecherry Slam" will be something new that the board is trying and the Demolition Derby rules will be announced soon.

The other events will be ATV and Motorcycle races hosted by the Heartland MX Club. These events will bring the series competitors to Sargent. This club's competitors are primarily children ranging in age from 4 to 15. So with these competitors will come their parents with pick-ups, trailers and RV's... all needing fuel, food, & beverage. Their travel will demand stops at fuel stations, restaurants, and motels in Custer County, Nebraska.

Custer County requires the park to carry a conditional use permit. Our application has been filed and approved.

Thank you for your support!

Playing in the sand!!!

Monday, July 6th 2009, 6:48 PM

Hey racers anyone that did not make it to the July 5th race in Sargeant missed out on a great weekend. I hope that everyone had a safe weekend, even if you didn't make it to Sargeant.
I have to give a hats off to Glen and Lisa for all the work they do to make this track happen, not to mention all the SMXP staff that works into the night prepping the track for the races. It makes for a long night for them and they all still manage to put on one hell of a race day with a smile. That just tells you what great people are in the sargeant area.
Race day started out with quad races were we had a set back and an ambulance call. Our prayers are with Zayne and his family and hope for a speedy recovery.
the way they run the quads first they watered the motocross track and while motocross was running the awesome staff was prepping the quad track for the next moto. That worked so slick.
Motocross went very smoothly, the track was great. And yes we had an ambulance call in the first moto of the mini open class. Dallas Gillcrest took the hole shot on a 65 and got tangled up in the first jump with another rider and went down hard. So he made a trip to the hospital also, but in Glens words motocrossers are like (GUMBY we bend and get tangle up and come back for more ) Dallas made that a true statement when he returned and raced the second moto.
It was great to see all the riders that showed up and alot of Sargeant residents came out to support the SMXP and the riders. Even though there were several people that were just waching they picked a rider out and cheered them on like they have known them forever.
I wanna thank Glen and Lisa, SMXP Staff, The flaggers, Our Photographer, Residents of Sargeant, EMT's and all the ambulance service that was there to help when needed, for a FANTASTIC WEEKEND. We will see you all at the next race.
